Tracking a firming trend in precious metals overseas, silver futures prices today rose 0.20 per cent to Rs 41,380 per kg as speculators built up fresh positions amid covering-up of short positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in December traded higher by Rs 83, or 0.20 per cent, to Rs 41,380 per kg in business turnover of 15 lots.
On the similar lines, the white metal for delivery in September traded Rs 65, or 0.16 per cent, higher at Rs 40,538 per kg in a turnover of 886 lots.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, copper for delivery in August traded higher by Rs 1.90, or 0.46 per cent, to Rs 417.45 per kg in business turnover of 3,888 lots.
Lead futures prices today traded a shade higher at Rs 121.75 per kg largely in line with firming trend in base metals in the global markets.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in July traded 25 paise, or 0.21 per cent, higher at Rs 121.75 per kg, with a turnover of 1,167 lots, while prices for delivery in August gained 20 paise, or 0.16 per cent, to Rs 122.65 per kg in a turnover of 71 lots.

Indian turmeric futures edged up on Friday as a fall in domestic supplies and more export enquiries outweighed good progress in sowing and higher carry forward stocks.
Indian jeera, or cumin seed, futures edged up due to some improvement in local demand and a rise in overseas demand, though higher local supplies weighed on sentiment.
The actively traded jeera contract for August delivery edged up 0.20 per cent at 13,590 rupees per 100 kg on the NCDEX.
