Cardamom prices gained 0.17 per cent to Rs 776.50 per kg in futures trade today mostly supported by rising demand in the spot market.

Besides, tight stocks position in the physical market due to restricted arrivals from producing regions also supported the uptrend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in October rose by Rs 1.30, or 0.17 per cent to Rs 776.50 per kg in business turnover of 167 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in November inched up by 50 paise or 0.06 per cent to Rs 813 per kg in 8 lots.

Market analysts said fresh positions built-up by speculators on the back of a rise in demand in the spot market mainly helped cardamom prices to rise at futures trade.
