Maintaining
wining streak for the fourth straight session, chana prices added
0.42 per cent to Rs 3,072 per quintal in futures trade today as
speculators enlarged their positions, driven by rising demand in the
spot market in view of festive season.
At
the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery
in November added Rs 13, or 0.42 per cent, to Rs 3,072 per quintal
with an open interest of 99,180 lots.
Similarly,
the commodity for delivery in December traded higher by Rs 12, or
0.38 per cent, to Rs 3,132 per quintal in 54,050 lots.
Market
analysts said speculators enlarged their positions, driven by rising
demand in the spot market in view of festive season mainly kept chana
prices firm for the fourth day at futures trade.
Cardamom
prices fell by Rs 8.60 to Rs 706.60 per kg in futures trade today as
speculators booked profits amid subdued demand in the spot market.
Adequate
stocks following increased arrivals from producing regions also put
pressure on cardamom prices in futures trade.
