Copper prices slid by Rs 2 per kg on the local non-ferrous base metals market today on reduced industrial demand amid a weakening global trend.
Traders said sentiment in copper remained bearish after it fell in overseas markets as investors await a Federal Reserve decision on its monthly stimulus programme.
Meanwhile, copper for delivery in three months dropped 0.6 per cent to USD 7,237 a metric tonne on the London Metal Exchange. In the national capital, copper mixed scrap remained weak and shed another Rs 2 to Rs 427 per kg.
