Chana prices rose by 0.82 per cent to Rs 2,817 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions amid rising demand in the spot market.
However, expectations of bumper production due to heavy rainfall in the growing areas, restricted the gains.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in October rose by Rs 23, or 0.82 per cent, to Rs 2,817 per quintal with an open interest of 1,19,830 lots.
Similarly, the commodity for delivery in September traded higher by Rs 19, or 0.70 per cent, to Rs 2,746 per quintal in 59,930 lots.
REFINED SOYA OIL
Supported by strong demand in spot markets, refined soya oil prices rose 1.02 per cent to Rs 572 per 10 kg in futures trading today as speculators enlarged positions.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya oil for delivery in October went up by Rs 5.75, or 1.02 per cent, to Rs 572 per 10 kg with an open interest of 1,04,020 lots.
Similarly, the oil for delivery in September edged higher by Rs 3.20, or 0.52 per cent, to Rs 613.80 per 10 kg in 29,830 lots.
