Jeera
Prices Jeera ended lower by 0.62% on Wednesday at
the National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX) on
account of a surge in the supply from the manufacturing zones in the
midst of a decrease in the export requirement. At the NCDEX, July
2015 contract of jeera futures closed at Rs. 16,105 per quintal, 0.62
percent down, after opening at Rs. 16,150 against the preceding
closing price of Rs. 16,205. It reached the intra-day low of Rs.
16,105.Global output of Jeera is around to be 2.2 lakh MT yearly, of
which India produces 1.5 lakh approx. MT yearly.
India exports Jeera mainly to the Singapore, UK,
Brazil, US, UAE, Japan, Bangladesh and many other countries. Besides
this, Major exporters are Turkey and Syria.
