Castorseed - Castorseed prices rose by 0.17 per cent today at the National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX) as a result of the rise in requirement from consuming industries against prohibited arrivals in native markets which in turn encouraged the investors to enlarge their holdings.
At the NCDEX, August 2015 contract for castor seed futures were trading at Rs. 4,100 per quintal tonnes, up by 0.17 per-cent, after opening at Rs. 4,103 against its previous closing price of Rs. 4,093. It gained the intra-day high of Rs. 4,105 till the time of trading. At 1 O' Clock today.Castor is a non-edible oilseed crop; basically a cash crop, with average 46 per cent oil recovery.
