Agri tips & outlook : Jeera prices closed higher by 0.25 per-cent on yesterday at the National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX) as the investors increased their holdings in the commodity market in the midst limited arrivals from growing regions. At the NCDEX, October 2015 contract for jeera futures closed at Rs. 15,830 per quintal, up by 0.25 per-cent, after opening at Rs. 15,795 against the previous closing price of Rs. 15,790. It attained the intra-day high of Rs. 15,910.Sentiment improved further as a result of reduced native supplies in the physical markets & some export enquiries.
World wide outcome of Jeera is around 2.2 lakh MT per year, of which India produces about 1.5 lakh MT each year. Country exports Jeera mainly to the US, UK, UAE, Japan, Singapore, Brazil, Bangladesh & many other countries. Besides this, Syria & Turkey are other Major exporters.
