Agri Tips for today : Prices of Jeera closed low by 1.07 per-cent on yesterday at the National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX) on account of a surge in the supply from the producing regions in the midst of a decline in the export requirement. NCDEX : Jeera futures for Jan 2016 contract ended at Rs. 13,350 per quintal, down by 1.07 per cent, after opening at Rs. 13,370 against the previous closing price of Rs. 13,495. It reached the intra-day low of Rs. 13,345.
World wide output of Jeera is nearly 2.2 lakh MT per year, of which India produces about 1.5 lakh MT per year.
India exports Jeera mainly to the UK, US, Bangladesh, Brazil, Singapore & many other countries. Besides this, other Major exporters are Syria & Turkey.
