Last week, prices of Jeera prices ends low by 2.43 per-cent at the National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited on account of a outpouring supply from the producing areas in the midst of a decline in the export requirement.
NCDEX : Jeera futures for March 2016 contract ended at Rs. 14,265 per quintal, down 2.43 per-cent, after unlocking at Rs. 14,625 against its preceding closing price of 14,620.Then, it reached the intra-day low of Rs. 14,165.
World wide outcome of Jeera is near 2.2 lakh MT per year, of which India produces about 1.5 lakh MT per year. India exports Jeera mainly to the US, UK, UAE, Japan, Brazil,Singapore, Bangladesh and many other countries. Besides this, other Major exporters are Syria & Turkey.
