Natural Gas futures dive by more than 2 per-cent in the domestic market on Thursday as investors and speculators exited positions in the energy commodity tracking weakness in the overseas market as a drop in US storage levels failed to lift sentiment with supply levels remaining more than adequate.
Reports said, US gas stockpiles fell down by 25 billion cubic feet to 2.468 trillion cubic feet in the week ended 25th march, 2016.
US total gas inventories are up 1.002 trillion cubic feet from a year ago and 843 billion cubic feet above the five-year average.
April 2016 contract for Natural Gas futures closed at 129.9 per mmBtu, went down by 2.18 per-cent, after opening at Rs 132.7, as compared to the previous closing price of Rs 132.8. It reached an intra- day low of Rs 129.
