Market Update for Agri Tips June 27, 2013

Jeera prices fell by 0.68 per cent to Rs 14,162.50 per quintal in futures trade today on increased supplies from producing regions against sluggish demand in the spot market.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in August fell by Rs97.50, or 0.68 per cent to Rs 14162.50 per quintal in open interest of 1019 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in July declined by Rs 82.50, or 0.60 per cent to Rs 13570 perquintal in 13602 lots.

Cardamom prices gained 0.81 per cent to Rs 775.10 per kg in futures trading today as 
speculators enlarged their holdings on upsurge in spot demand.

Restricted arrivals from producing regions and some export enquiries also supported the upside.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in August gained Rs 6.20, or 0.81 percent, to Rs 775.10 per kg in business turnover of 562 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in July traded higher by Rs 2.80, or 0.37 per cent, to Rs 755.40 per kg in 1,161 lots.
