Market update for June 28,2013

Precious Metals:
   D A I L Y B U Z Z

Tracking a recovery in precious metals in global markets, silver futures prices on Thursday rose 
by 0.33 per cent to Rs 40,115 per kg as speculators built up fresh positions amid covering-up of short positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, silver for delivery in September traded higher by Rs 130, or 
0.33 per cent, to Rs 40,015 per kg in business turnover of 572 lots.

On the similar lines, the white metal for delivery in July traded Rs 92, or 0.23 per cent, higher 
at Rs 39,568 per kg in a turnover of 2,193 lots.

In the international market, silver gained 2.20 per cent, to trade at $18.93 an ounce in 
Singapore.

Base Metals & Energy:

Crude oil futures prices rose by 0.64 per cent to Rs 5,832 per barrel on Thursday as speculators created fresh positions, tracking a firming trend in Asia.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, crude oil for delivery in July traded Rs 37 or 0.64 per cent, 
higher at Rs 5,832 per barrel, with a business turnover of 13,470 lots.

The crude oil for August also moved up by Rs 35, or 0.60 per cent, to Rs 5,844 per barrel, with a business volume of 1,294 lots.

Lead prices edged up by 0.12 per cent to Rs 123.45 per kg in futures trade on Thursday as speculators created fresh positions, driven by a rise in demand in the spot market amid a firm global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in June traded tad higher by 15 paise, or 0.12 percent, to Rs 123.45 per kg in business turnover of 5,765 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in July traded higher by similar margin to Rs 123.95 per kg in 1,385 lots.

Meanwhile, lead up by 1 per cent to $ 2,051.50 a tonne on the London Metal Exchange.
