Agri tips : Chana locked higher on strong buying interest 18 Sep, 2015

Agri tips - Prices of Chana closed higher 2.47 per-cent on Wednesday this week at the National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX) as the traders expanded their holdings in the commodity on account of the good demand in the market. At the NCDEX, chana futures for September 2015 contract closed at Rs. 4,402 per quintal, up by 2.47 per cent, after opening at Rs. 4,338 in against with the previous closing price of Rs. 4,296. It touched the intra-day high of Rs. 4,446.

However, the prohibited arrivals of the commodity in the physical market due to lower assumed output also influenced the prices of chana. Indian equity market, forex, money & commodity markets were shut-down yesterday on account of Ganesh Chaturthi Fest Celebration.

Our country is the largest manufacturer of chickpea followed by our neighbouring country Pakistan, then Turkey & Iran. country produces around 6 to 8 million tonnes & contributes around 70 per-cent of the total world production.
