Agri updates : Jeera ended low by 1.21 % 4 Jan, 2016


Agri tips & updates : Prices of Jeera closed lower by 1.21 per-cent on Friday previous week at the National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX) on account of a surge in the supply from the producing regions in the midst of a decline in the export requirement.

NCDEX : Jeera futures for January 2016 contract ended at Rs. 14,265 per quintal, down by 1.21 per-cent, after opening at Rs. 14,370 against the previous closing price of Rs. 14,440. It reached the intra-day low of Rs. 14,210.

World wide outcome of Jeera is around 2.2 lakh MT each year, of which India manufactures around 1.5 lakh MT per year.

India exports Jeera mainly to the UK, US, UAE, Japan, Brazil, Singapore Bangladesh and many other countries. Other Major exporters are Syria & Turkey.
