Agri tips : Coriander rose by 2.48 % 25 Aug, 2015

Agri tips & updates - Today, prices of coriander rose by 2.48 per-cent at the National Commodity & Derivatives Exchange Limited (NCDEX) as a result of the limited stocks on account of restricted arrivals from the major growing belts. At the NCDEX, September 2015 contract for coriander futures was trading at Rs. 11,005 per quintal, up by 2.48% after opening at Rs. 10,750 as compared to its preceding closing price of 10,739. It gained the intra-day high of Rs. 11,149 till the time of trade.Today morning at 11.45.

Sentiment enhanced further as the investors enlarged their holdings tracking the surge in the demand for the commodity. Coriander is very common in Middle Eastern, Central Asian, South Asian, Mediterranean, Indian, Latin American, Tex-Mex, Portuguese, African, Chinese and Scandinavian cuisine.

NCDEX Agri Tips for March 27, 2014

MENTHA OIL
  • Mentha oil remained weak for the second straight day and prices fell further by 0.93 per cent to Rs 885.80 per kg in futures trade today on sluggish demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
  • At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in March fell further by Rs 8.30, or 0.93 per cent to Rs 885.80 per kg in business turnover of 115 lots.
  • Similarly, the oil for delivery in April traded lower by Rs 8.30, or 0.92 per cent to Rs 896.80 per kg in 98 lots.
CARDAMOM
  • Cardamom futures extended losses for the second straight day by losing 0.14 per cent to Rs 866.30 per kg in futures trade today as speculators reduced positions due to low demand in the spot market against higher supplies. 
  • At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in May declined by Rs 1.20, or 0.14 per cent to Rs 866.30 per kg in business turnover of 166 lots.
  • Similarly, the spice for delivery in April shed 90 paise, or 0.11 per cent to Rs 846.70 per kg in 295 lots.

NCDEX Agri Tips for March 26, 2014

  • Coriander prices rose by 0.79 per cent to Rs 8,943 per quintal in futures trade today as speculators enlarged positions on rising demand in the spot market.
  • At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, coriander for delivery in April rose by Rs 70, or 0.79 per cent, to Rs 8,943 per quintal with an open interest of 30,150 lots.
  • Similarly, the spice for delivery in May moved up by Rs 65, or 0.72 per cent, to Rs 9,120 per quintal in 40,570 lots.
CARDAMOM
  • Cardamom futures fell by 0.39 per cent to Rs 884.80 per kg in futures trade today as speculators indulged in booking profits at prevailing levels, driven by sluggish demand in the spot market.
  • Adequate stocks position following increased arrivals from producing regions also put pressure on cardamom.
  • At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in May fell by Rs 3.50, or 0.39 per cent, to Rs 884.80 per kg in business turnover of 62 lots. Similarly, the spice for delivery in April shed Rs 3, or 0.35 per cent, to Rs 865.20 per kg in 299 lots

NCDEX Agri Tips for March 05, 2014

  • Cardamom futures fell 0.51 per cent to Rs 773.90 per kg today as traders reduced their holdings amid sluggish spot demand.
  • Besides, sufficient stocks position in the physical market also weighed on the prices.
  • At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for March contract declined by Rs 4, or 0.51 per cent, to Rs 773.90 per kg with a business turnover of 370 lots.
  • The spice for delivery in April fell by Rs 2.30, or 0.28 per cent, to Rs 809 per kg with a trading volume of 196 lots.
  • Marketmen said besides profit booking by speculators at existing levels, fall in demand in spot market put pressure on cardamom prices in futures market

NCDEX Tips for February 13, 2014

CHANA

  • Chana prices rose 0.62 per cent to Rs 2,931 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators enlarged positions, supported by pick up in demand in the spot market.
  • At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, chana for delivery in February rose by Rs 18, or 0.62 per cent to Rs 2,931 per quintal with an open interest of 24,210 lots.
  • Similarly, the commodity for delivery in March edged up by Rs 4, or 0.13 per cent to Rs 3,042 per quintal in 94,040 lots.

MENTHA OIL

  • Amid strong demand from consuming industries and lower arrivals from producing regions, mentha oil prices rose 0.51 per cent to Rs 792.90 per kg in futures trading today as speculators enlarged positions.
  • At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in February moved up by Rs 4, or 0.51 per cent to Rs 792.90 per kg in business turnover of 260 lots.
  • Similarly, the oil for delivery in March gained Rs 2.80, or 0.35 per cent to Rs 802 per kg in 76 lots.

NCDEX Tips for February 11, 2014

REFINED SOYA OIL

  • Refined soya oil prices up by 0.78 per cent to Rs 682.40 per 10 kg in futures trade today as speculators enlarged positions, driven by rising demand in the spot market due to ongoing wedding season.
  • At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, refined soya for delivery in March rose by Rs 5.25, or 0.78 per cent to Rs 682.40 per 10 kg with an open interest of 1,06,990 lots.
  • Similarly, the oil for delivery in February gained Rs 3.90, or 0.57 per cent to Rs 688.20 per 10 kg in 17,510 lots.

CARDAMOM


  • Cardamom prices rose 1.70 per cent to Rs 814.10 per kg in futures trading today as speculators created fresh positions after upsurge in demand in the spot market supported by ongoing marriage season. 
  • Tight stocks position in the physical market following restricted arrivals from producing regions further fuelled the uptrend.

DHANIYA

  • At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in March rose by Rs 13.60, or 1.70 per cent to Rs 814.10 per kg in business turnover of 411 lots. Similarly, the spice for delivery in February edged up by Rs 3.50, or 0.51 per cent to Rs 695.80 per kg in 4 lots.

Soybean futures for December delivery on India's National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) was seen trading with a loss of 1.13% at Rs.3920 per 100 kgs as of 13.14 IST on Wednesday.

Lead prices traded lower by 0.55 per cent to Rs 135.20 per kg in futures market today as speculators reduced their positions due to sluggish demand from battery makers in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in December declined by 75 paise, or 0.55 per cent, to Rs 135.20 per kg in business turnover of 81 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in November shed 70 paise, or 0.52 per cent, to Rs 134.10 per kg in 2,527 lots.

Analysts attributed the weakness in lead futures to offloading of positions by speculators on sluggish demand from battery-maker in the spot market.

Zinc prices moved down by 0.33 per cent to Rs 119.25 per kg in futures trade today as speculators

Cardamom prices fell by Rs 8.60 to Rs 706.60 per kg in futures trade today as speculators booked profits amid subdued demand in the spot market.

Adequate stocks following increased arrivals from producing regions also put pressure on cardamom prices in futures trade.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, cardamom for delivery in November fell by Rs 8.60, or 1.20 per cent, to Rs 706.60 per kg, with a business turnover of 805 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in December declined by Rs 3, or 0.40 per cent, to Rs 742 per kg with a business turnover of 264 lots.

Market analysts said besides profit-booking at existing higher levels, a fall in demand in the spot market put pressure on cardamom prices in futures trade.

Lead prices traded marginally higher by 0.37 per cent to Rs 134.80 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions after a rise in demand from battery-maker in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, lead for delivery in October traded higher by 50 paise, or 0.37 per cent, to Rs 134.80 per kg in business turnover of 3,474 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in November edged up by 35 paise, or 0.26 per cent, to Rs 136.05 per kg in 441 lots.

Market analysts said fresh positions built up by speculators on the back of a rise in demand from battery-maker in the spot market mainly helped lead prices to trade higher in futures trade.

Nickel prices moved up by 0.55 per cent to Rs 895.50 per kg in futures trading today as speculators enlarged their positions, driven by pick up in demand from alloy-maker in the spot market.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, nickel for delivery in October rose by Rs 4.90, or 0.55 per cent, to Rs 895.50 per kg in business turnover of 2,815 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in November moved up by Rs 4.30, or 0.48 per cent, to Rs 902.30 per kg in 367 lots.

Market analysts attributed the rise in nickel futures to pick up in demand from alloy-maker in the spot market.

Coriander prices moved up by 0.71 per cent to Rs 6,958 per quintal in futures trade today on pick up in demand in the spot market against tight supplies on limited arrivals from producing regions.

At the National Commodity and Derivative Exchange, coriander for delivery in December moved up by Rs 49, or 0.71 per cent, to Rs 6,958 per quintal with an open interest of 7,320 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in November traded higher by Rs 37, or 0.55 per cent, to Rs 6,775 per quintal in 20,440 lots.

Market analysts said besides pick up in demand in the spot market, tight supplies following less arrivals from producing regions also influenced coriander prices at futures trade.

Jeera futures hit a contract low on Thursday due to hopes of a greater area under cultivation, higher than-expected spot supplies and stocks from the old crop.

At 0934 GMT, the actively traded jeera contract for November delivery was down 0.14 per cent at Rs 12,610 per 100 kg on the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, (NCDEX) after hitting a contract low of 12,525 rupees earlier. It has fallen more than 13 percent between September 3 and October 23. The most-actively traded turmeric contract for November delivery was down 0.78 per cent at Rs 4,864 per 100 kg on the NCDEX.

Jeera prices gained 0.73 per cent to Rs 12,727.50 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators enlarged their positions, driven by rising demand in the spot market amid lower arrivals from producing regions.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in November month gained Rs 92.50, or 0.73 per cent, to Rs 12,727.50 per quintal with an open interest of 10,173 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in December traded up by Rs 82.50, or 0.64 per cent, to Rs 12,930 per quintal in 3,042 lots.

Turmeric prices rose 1.52 per cent to Rs 4,954 per quintal in futures market today as speculators enlarged positions on the back of export demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, turmeric for delivery in December rose by Rs 74, or 1.52 per cent, to Rs 4,954 per quintal with open interest of 7,935 lots.

Likewise, the spice for delivery in November went up by Rs 56, or 1.17 per cent, to Rs 4,848 per quintal in 14,690 lots.

Similarly, the spice for delivery in October edged up 60 paise, or 0.08 per cent, to Rs 706.50 per kg in 546 lots.

Mentha oil prices moved up by 0.18 per cent to Rs 870.80 per kg in futures trade today as speculators created fresh positions amid rising demand from consuming industries in the spot market.

Besides, tight supplies in the physical market following less arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh also supported the uptrend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in October month rose by 1.60, or 0.18 per cent, to Rs 870.80 per kg in business turnover of 206 lots.

Likewise, the oil for delivery in November edged up by Rs 1.30, or 0.15 per cent, to Rs 884.50 per kg in 6 lots.
